The Details...
This brooch features faux pearls and lampwork glass pink and blue beads arranged in a floral design, with gilt metal work 'stems'. The brooch fastens with a trombone catch and the fastening pin is fitted to the brooch with a round hinge. Each individual bead is attached to wire, which is then secured by hand to a gilt metal mesh panel - a signature of Louis Rousselet pieces. This brooch measures 6.5cm x 3cm.
A Short History...
Louis Rousselet was a major manufacturer of beads and jewellery incorporating his beads in Paris from the 1920s until the early 1970s. He produced pieces for the most prominent couturiers, such as Chanel. The beads were all hand wound and polished and, therefore, of exceptional quality. The lustrous faux pearls he created from glass beads coated in 'Essence d'Orient' are used prominently in this brooch.

This brooch is perfect for evening wear or a special occasion. It would look beautiful with a little black dress, but equally chic with a 1950s full skirted bridal gown.

- If you wish to clean your jewellery, use a soft polishing cloth or a soft brush.
