    This elegant necklace dates from the 1930s and was made in Czechoslovakia. 

    Condition Report:

    Very Good - Some wear to the plating on the reverse of the piece. However, this isn’t visible when the necklace is worn and does not detract from the appeal of the piece.

    This necklace features oval cut, bezel set, blue/grey glass stones interspersed with bezel set, round, colourless paste stones. The necklace fastens with a bolt ring. The stones are set in a silver plated brass, which is embossed with floral motifs. The necklace measures 42cm in length.

    Glass has been a prevalent feature of costume pieces since the invention of jewellery. An easily accessible material that can be formed into any shape and dyed any colour. Glass was heavily used in 1920s and 1930s pieces, such as this set, because it could be dyed in a vast array of colours to meet the need for affordable jewellery after the Great War and the Depression.

    - If you wish to clean your jewellery, use a soft polishing cloth or a soft brush.
