The piece is set with small, round, colourless paste stones and is detailed with a single, teardrop shaped, bezel set, open-back mounted, pink glass stone. The piece features a small bail so that it may be worn as a pendant. To allow it to be worn as a brooch, the fastening pin is attached to the piece with a tube hinge and the brooch fastens with a 'C' catch. The brooch measures 3cm x 4.5cm.

A Short History...
This pendant is a lovely example of garland style jewellery from the Edwardian era. Designs were typified by ribbons, laurel wreaths, bows, knots and tassels creating soft, dripping lines in jewels that had previously been quite structured. The garland style borrowed motifs from 18th century jewellery design and injected them with greater fluidity of line.
